5 Months of Life

Another busy month has passed. Illa has reached the half year mark. Yeah! We sang, "Happy Half Birthday" last week.

Food, Food, Food! Illa is dabbling into a bit of everything in the world of food. She loves cereal, veggies and fruits. She is gobbling up everything! Right now her favorites are carrots, sweet potatoes, peaches and applesauce. Not to mention exotic friuts like guava. We have even given her a biter biscuit to sample. Illa ate it like it was going out of style.

Little Miss Illa is sure interested in what going on around her. At school she's watching everyone crawl and walk. It won't be long until she is up and around. Everyone's business is her business. She watches and listens to what is going around her.

The girl in her is already shining through. If you hand her the phone she immediately starts talking. Andy thinks we are in trouble with this discovery. She babbles constantly. She says, "dadada", "fafafa", and "bababa". I am trying to teach her mama. We are practicing waving and saying, "hi" and blowing kisses. This is just so funny to her.

Actually most things are pretty funny. She laughs and smiles all the time! Her smiles melt your heart. Illa loves to play peek-a-boo. Illa is even giving kisses. She loves to grab your face and plant her wet open mouth on yours. They are pretty slobbery, but priceless!

She is still rolling over, but no crawl yet. She can pull herself up to a sit and to a stand. Illa is now sitting up in the basket when we go shopping. Hopefully this upcoming month will be a mobile one.

There is not a thing that Illa doesn't want to put in her mouth. I think those little teeth will be popping out shortly. She'll eat anyhting from your fingers, to hers, to paper, and her toes!

I am so excited about what she will discover this month!
